Samsung to launch pair of cinematic 35' monitors with speedy 144Hz refresh fee

Samsung is planning to launch a pair of monster ultrawide (21:9) video display units later this 12 months so that it will boast a decision of 3440 x 1440 and will push refresh charges on that res skywards.
the 2 planned displays are 30- and 35-inches and will boast a refresh fee of as much as 144Hz, thanks to using DisplayPort 1.three tech (formerly, this wasn't possible, and in case you wanted a decision at this stage, you had to sacrifice that refresh price).
Of route, there are not any photos playing cards from both of the massive players that convey DisplayPort 1.three, that is why those monitors are launching later this year when said video cards are simply on the market.
In terms of the precise timing, OC3D reports that the larger 35-inch version can be out first in Q2 of 2016, with the smaller display following in Q3. both will use a VA panel.
FreeSync FTW?
with any luck we'll see guide for AMD's FreeSync on board these ultrawide behemoths, too – there's a honest threat of this, however not anything is confirmed at this point. certainly, there may be no different statistics currently to be had approximately those monitors, but given the discharge date isn't too far off, it should not be lengthy before we hear extra.
Asus is also planning to launch a 34-inch QHD resolution ultrawide monitor, the MX34, which has a curved display and we observed to be "surely beautiful" in our recent hands-on with the show.
